New spade

Hi all, thought I'd share a pic of the new tree digger my brother in law fabricated for me, modelled on the one G Potter has on website, it came through its first test unscathed today and I look forward to many years of digging.

Made the dig easy? What's it constructed of?

Give us some specs and tell us about the dig

Hi Bio,sorry about the delay didn`t see your question :( ,the spade is 1.4m long from handle to blade, the blade is 60cm with a taper from 18cm wide down to 10cm and curved ,the end had been sharpened to cut through roots, weight is about 5kg`s,I didn`t stress it too much on the first dig just dug some Ixoras out of a side garden between two brick walls but the leverage didn`t even look like bending it,the handle is water pipe but the blade I`m not so sure of,will find out and let you know, can`t wait to try it out on something a bit heavier with bigger root systems.
