I love these images.

I am often mesmerized by winter images and trees covered in even snow...

Leong, although I try every winter to hide my trees from cold, I see your post mentions that the trees need the cold conditions (even iced leaves).

Can you give a little more clarity on this subject.
I would like to leave my trees out if it is beneficial.
Is there some tips in order to do so?

Regards Louis

Looks great Leong, I wish we`d hurry up and get a cold snap up here in Brissie, not only for our trees but for the Tailor fishing season. :(

Louis, like most living things we need a period of rest. Pines, maples, junipers and etc love these cold conditions, Of course figs don't. Where our growing areas is situated we get fair amount of frost and minus 3-6 degree centigrade. We don't use any forms of protective covering. Only thing we don't do is have trees in ceramic bonsai pots, they always invariably crack due to expansion of frozen wet growing medium. Hope this help.
Cheers.
Leong.

Hi Leong

All I can say is that I'm glad its you & not me.

I don't fair to good in the crispy finger department these days.

Anymore pictures of Henry's hair caught in the barb wire?

when we get cool weather, it's still gets to mid 20's to 30's during the day. yesterday 29 the day before 31 degrees. I'm hoping it will get cooler. My tropical peach is flowering :( very confusing.
