How did your bonsai fair in today's heat.

Is 43 degrees in the shade my maximum and minimum thermometer show. What I also notice is some of the junis and figs got burnt. Not serious enough to be a concern but enough to create more work. Hope you all don't have the same issues as I.:( :(

Where I am in western NSW, it's been hot from Christmas to the present with most days in the high 30's to low 40's, peaking at 45C. The heat is one thing, but it is the relentless hot winds causing the damage. In anticipation, I moved my plants into a shade house in December. So far, only an azalea and an acacia howittii are dead, and group plantings are struggling, but it is the wind burn on most species - especially maples - that is the issue. A number of trees in shallow bonsai pots have been transplanted into large garden pots quite successfully. Another issue has been the pots being heated. Hopefully these plants haven't had their root systems cooked.
Good luck to everyone . It's been a difficult long hot summer.
