Diatomite current hardness and suitability

1 month 6 days ago #61640 by Gareth
Has anyone recently purchased diatomite and can comment on the hardness.

I know maidenwell no longer calcines their product and it is soft and unsuitable.

Mt Sylivia i hear was having issues but seem to have been solved now.

Can anyone comment?

I was going to make a mix with pumice, zeolite, diatomite and pine bark mini nuggets,..... if diatomite is longer the go can anyone comment on alternatives?

Scoria isnt really what i an looking for i dont think. and its hard to find a decent price in the size range needed.

Hi Gareth
All the diatomite I have found the last 2 years has been too soft.
If you add extra pine bark to your mix to replace diatomite it will be fine
