ANNOUNCEMENT - workshop with Ryan Neil

Thanks to everyone for organising such an awesome day. Really inspiring! Will definitely be trying to get into the workshop in 2016. I need to get onto this forum more too....

I am still buzzing from yesterday, I know for me it doesn't take much but while I could regret giving up a workshop spot after having one, yesterday gave me positive reinforcement for doing so.

Ryan is fantastic.

Two of the main aspects I took from yesterday was always play to the health of the tree, we can do so much with whatever bit of material we have in front of us at any given time, be it as a demonstration or if we are by ourselves at home, always treat the material with respect and consideration for its health is paramount.

The second biggest aspect I took from yesterday is, always listen to others regardless of how far advanced you are. We can always learn and appreciate from a different perspective, regardless of if you have had 5 minutes experience or 50 years experience.

The latter is something that we have all seen and experienced before through Leong, Jerry, Peter, Rod, Taffy and a few others. No matter who we are, our opinion is no less or more valued and don't forget that.

Thanks again Leong and David for making this possible, I honestly cannot thank you enough, but hopefully will be able to repay you in years to come in various ways

Nice work Hugh! Great use of carving to hide the materials faults. Correct me if I'm wrong Hugh but this was the same juniper posted for sale on the B/S forum.

Now to chase the roots around hey.
