ANNOUNCEMENT - workshop with Ryan Neil

Looks like a brilliant event! I'm jealous!

Looking at the trees, did everyone bring their own or was that part if the fee? And did the trees cost why was on the pots?!?

Forgive the questions, it reflects my inexperience!

Cheers
Elmar Z.

jealous guys , looks like it was a great couple of days. I just sold my shop so hopefully
any trees I have left(not dead) I can get on with now , I lost about half my trees through
neglect :(

Im incredibly jealous to have missed such a great event! Not that Leong didnt invite me enough times, just circumstances.
Just a quick question after viewing the work done. Seems like some major branch removal and jinning on the pines and also the junis.
I have only attempted this kind of work at this time of the year in my earlier days, with very poor results.
Often there is the problem of high sap flow (at the peak of summer) causing the weakening or even the demise particularly of older more mature trees .
Just wondering how this did or didnt effect the trees, and any techniques used to avoid or lessen the impact.

Quite surprise to hear that there is a high sap flow in the middle of summer Chris. Is the junis and pines you work on in peak condition? All the trees we use in the workshop with Ryan are well prepared prior to all the drastic pruning. The next thing is to reduce the watering by at least half to prevent drowning after workshop till it starts to shoot again. Hope this help.
Yours sincerely.

maybe our problem up here is the long growing season, they just dont stop, incredibly vigorous. Especially after some good rain so hard to prevent watering. I have cut back spring candles in the growing field 2 weeks ago and already new well formed summer candles exploding.
