I have just recently moved to hervey bay two months ago,i have been dabbling with bonsais for awhile,I obtained my elm from the back of a nursery in casino n.s.w about 4years ago, have just taken some heavy wire off, gave it a shot of powerfeed half strength and got a good response and three weeks later its starting to drop leaves, could this be change of environment, threw some pics in of elm and a couple of other trees I have been working on,my computer skills are atrocious,is there a bonsai club in the hervey bay area

Welcome to the forum Alastair you will find not only the friendliest bunch of bonsai enthusiasts here but between them all I don't think you will find a question that cannot be answered .
As for Hervey Bay yes there is a local group , they go under the name of Fraser Coast Bonsai Group and they meet in Maryborough the first Sunday of the month at the Maryborough Cricket Club hall , Ariadne st starting at 1.00pm .
The next meeting is next Sunday 3/4/2016 .

Hi Alastair

Welcome to the forum, sorry for some reason I missed your post.

The elm could be going into early winter hibernation.

Welcome to Bonsai South - and to the Hervey Bay area.

I'd love to see those trees you've posted in real life.

As Rod said, the Fraser Coast Bonsai Group meeting is this coming Sunday, and you're very welcome to come along. I'm doing a talk and demo on wiring as the first part of this meeting.

Hope you don't mind - I rotated your photo for you.

Regards,

Taffy
