Hi There
Just had a search of this link from today's Stone Lantern.

Great pictures of before & after shots, by Naoki Maeoka.

Ok it helps if you have great stock in the first place, but it gives you an idea of how wiring to the tips improves the overall look.
The picture attached is on the site of a Tamarix finely wired; it looks like something that one of our natives could look like?
BTW: What do you think of Naoki Maeokas pot making skills?

HI Max
Good point you have mentioned, I didn't even look closely at the pot when I posted it up.
I was more focused on the foliage transformation regarding wiring to the tips, when I found the before & after shots.
OK continuing on WHAT SHAPE / COLOR POT DO WE ALL SUGGEST?
I'll go for a Pat Kennedy Grey Rectangular Plain Pot?

Hi JC, the Tamarix is a beautiful tree and it also has a very pretty pink flower as well. I spotted one in a local nursery about 18 months ago (about a metre tall)and planted it in the garden to try and fatten it up a bit (they are quite spindly)and have gradually been reducing it in height. Hopefully may be this spring I can lift it out of the garden and do a bit of styling on it, if not this year then definitely next year.

Hi Lindsay
I see what you mean with the pot and the pink flowers.
