this a virt, i want the tree to move in this direction .
maybe 10 more years . im putting in a longer pot this
year witch will thicken the trunk up nicely , letting
the surface roots thicken is the best way to thicken
your trunks.

any other ideas?

I like the way you style your trees chad including your privets, your domed Alex's and dense pads work well. Once those trunks start thickening you are going to have a very nice collection.

LOL Stu, when I read your first post I was like 'Huh, what the....alex's....' lolol. (also you can edit your previous post too ;) as I should know, I edit almost everyone of mine because of spelling (I'm a self grammar Nazi). But I couldn't agree with you more about Chad's distinct styling he has with his trees, I rate it highly.

Chad,

Another great progression mate, as Stu has noticed like me, you have a distinct way you style a tree and its a credit to you. From the recent progressions you have shared with us, it becomes quite obvious your style.

If you want to hasten the base to get some girth, as per your virt I'd put it into something larger and feed it heavy for a year or two while keeping the top in check (so your efforts and work isn't undone) and then put it back into a bonsai pot once you have reached the desired thickness.

Please keep us posted Chad.

Cheers

David
